If your Apple ID is locked or disabled

If you or someone else enters your password, security questions, or other account information incorrectly too many times, Apple will lock your Apple ID to protect your account and your security.

Important: If you see a message that your Apple ID is locked, you need to reset your password or unlock your account using the steps below.

Unlock your Apple ID

1. Go to iforgot.apple.com on any device.
2. Enter your Apple ID email address or phone number.
3. Choose the option to reset your password or unlock your account.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to verify your identity.

What happens after you verify

Once you successfully verify your identity, you will be able to create a new password and regain access to all of your Apple services, including iCloud, the App Store, and iMessage.
